Tisca Prefect training days

TISCA are pleased to present the 2019-2020 Prefect Training Days brochures. Full details and booking for both the Senior and Prep School Leadership Training Days can be found on our website www.tisca.org.uk/events and also here.

Senior Leadership

Senior Leadership Training is for Head Boys/Girls/Heads of School and Senior Prefects (or senior leaders). This will be run by staff from Dean Close School, Cheltenham including Warden Emma Taylor. This will be the ninth year TISCA have run their Leadership training at Dean Close School – we are very grateful for them for hosting this important training day. In 2019 it will be held on Thursday, 26 September from 10am-4pm.

Issues tackled during the course will include:

• servant leadership
• understanding oneself as a leader
• understanding team dynamics
• relating to the Head and seeing the benefits of being a Prefect
• conflict resolution
• time management

Prep school prefect training

Our Prep School Prefect training is for those from Prep Schools and Junior Prefects. Organised jointly with Kingham Hill School, presenters on the day will include both Kingham Hill and TISCA Staff. In 2019 the training day will be held on Thursday, 19 September from 10am-4pm.

We encourage schools, if possible, to send along with their prefects a senior member of staff with responsibility for prefects so that they may be involved in discussions, application and follow-up. Existing prefects (those already in post) are also most welcome to attend, along with those who are just starting out. We will encourage those who already have experience of being a prefect to share their experiences with the group

My 3 pupils enjoyed the day and got a lot out of it, especially – according to them – in the teamwork and job description exercises. I would certainly echo their views and would encourage you to continue the course in the future.
